FAIL:Baseball

"The paid attendance of 8,790 was the sixth-smallest in PNC Park history, the smallest having been 8,201 from the April, 25, 2007. Actual turnstile count was roughly 4,500."(Deadspin)
The Pittsburg Pirates built a new stadium that opened March 31, 2001 touting that a new stadium would bring fans and inspire the team to not suck. Though the stadium cost came in at a paltry 216 million, 6 times less than the stadium in the Bronx where the Yankers play. As more proof new stadiums are a waste of money and a money grab for owners, the Pirates plan isnt working. April 20, 2009 it is reported that the pirates had only 4,500 (Paid Attendance 8,790) people show up to the game. There might be in explanation as to why people couldn't get off their couch to watch the game but thats not really an excuse when the paid attendance amount is their 6th worst in that ballpark. Paid attendance includes season ticket holders who didnt bother showing up, but the actual amount of people that showed up is much less.
