Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has said he watched his father, the late Michigan governor George Romney, in a 1960s civil rights march in Michigan with Martin Luther King Jr...In a major speech on faith and politics earlier this month in Texas, Mitt Romney said: "I saw my father march with Martin Luther King."He made a similar statement Sunday during an appearance on NBC's Meet the Press. He said, "You can see what I believed and what my family believed by looking at our lives. My dad marched with Martin Luther King. My mom was a tireless crusader for civil rights."..."He was speaking figuratively, not literally," Eric Fehrnstrom, spokesman for the Romney campaign, said of the candidate. The campaign was responding to questions raised by the Free Press and other media after a Boston publication challenged the accuracy of Mitt Romney's account...Free Press archives, however, showed no record of King marching in Grosse Pointe in 1963 or of then-governor Romney taking part in King's historic march down Woodward Avenue in June of that year. George Romney told the Free Press at the time that he didn't take part because it was on a Sunday and he avoided public
appearances on the Sabbath because of his religion...The governor's record was one of supporting civil rights. He helped create the state's first civil rights commission and marched at the head of a protest parade in Detroit days after violence against civil rights marchers in Selma, Ala., in 1965. The old I'm not racist, I know black people. Just not any black person, my dad marched with Dr. Martin Luther King. Who know maybe fmr senator George Romney did walk with Dr. King, the Mormon god must have erased it out of the records and memories of everyone there.

Harlem Valley Times reports:
Michael Seifert, a 57-year-old parent, was tracked down by Waterbury police and confronted at his New Milford, Conn. home. He cooperated with authorities, confessing immediately to robbing 13 banks throughout New York and Connecticut between February and December. He stole between $2,500 and $5,000 at each bank, totaling approximately $47,000...Seifert was held overnight at the Waterbury Police Department on $1 million bond. After Seifert submitted a written statement admitting to the additional 12 robberies, the bond was raised to $5 million...Once other local police departments respond, Seifert will face 13 counts of first degree larceny. Members of the Waterbury Police Department were able to track Seifert down by cross-referencing local motor vehicle records based on witness descriptions of his various getaway cars. The vehicle descriptions included a black Chevrolet Colorado and a red Ford Expedition. It appears that Seifert acted completely alone. There is no evidence of any of Seifert's family members knowing about or being involved in any of the robberies. "He was having some financial problems," said Lt. Chris Corbett of the Waterbury Police Department. "It seems like a case of someone getting over his head in debt and not knowing where else to turn."

The announced pregnancy of Jamie Lynn Spears -- the 16-year-old children's television star and younger sister of beleaguered pop star Britney Spears -- is
casting new light on how states deal with the thorny issue of consensual sex among teens. Spears, the star of Nickelodeon's "Zoey 101," told OK! Magazine that she's pregnant and that the father is her 18-year-old boyfriend. There has been no public talk of criminal prosecution in the case. Consensual sex between the two may well have been legal, depending on where and when it took place.

now the rape law is a problem, when it can apply to her boyfriend. What about Genarlow Wilson of Georgia. Their mom needs to be brought up on abuse charges, she keeps profiting from her kids work. There is something defiantly wrong with that.
