Asshole, go kill yourself. Good work

R.I.H (Rest in Hell) David Kellerman CFO of Fannie Mac, or former CFO I doubt he will be able to carry out his duties in hell.
Kellermann, 41, was found dead yesterday morning in his Fairfax County home in an apparent suicide, police said. He left no note, law enforcement sources said, and his motivations were not known. ...
Kellermann was found by his wife, Donna, yesterday in the basement of their home in the upscale Hunter Mill Estates subdivision in Vienna, law enforcement sources said. He had hanged himself on a piece of exercise equipment, the sources said. There were no signs of foul play. His body was taken to the office of the medical examiner, who will rule on the cause of death...
Yet Kellermann has also figured in recent controversies at Freddie Mac. He and a group of company attorneys tussled with its regulator in early March as the firm prepared to file its quarterly earnings report with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The group insisted that Freddie Mac inform shareholders of the cost to the company of helping carry out the Obama administration's housing recovery plan. The regulator urged the company not to do so, according to several sources familiar with the matter. An FHFA official contested that account, saying the regulator did not oppose disclosure but how the information was portrayed in the filing...

Earlier this month, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae were criticized on Capitol Hill after outlining plans to pay $210 million in retention bonuses to 7,600 employees over 18 months. Those payments included an $850,000 bonus for Kellermann disbursed over a year and a half. He had already received $170,000. Top lawmakers have demanded that employees pay back money they've received and that the companies suspend all bonuses.

During the uproar over bonuses, Kellermann's wife sent an e-mail to neighbors letting them know that a security detail was guarding the house, one recalled. Another neighbor said the Kellermanns hadn't wanted the protection -- they were reluctant to see Freddie's troubles intrude so publicly on their private lives.(Washingtonpost)

What do you mean you needed to explain the cost due to Obama, you ungrateful asshole you wouldn't have a job if the government didn't bail out freddie in fannie to the tune of 60 Billion dollars. How would you have a job with out that, go ahead blame someone else, the government didn't make you take this job. You could have said no!
Was Kellerman doing a good enough job to have earned 1 million in bonuses the year the company he works for aint worth shit. Bonuses from tax payer money none the less.
And cry me a river, "reluctant to see freddies troubles intrude so publicly on their private lives." Once again don't take the job, and what the hell where they expecting 60 BILLION dollars, yeah the public is going to bug you. You must not have wanted your lives to private with all of the parties you hosted at your house with most likely bonus money. Now its a problem when you take over a high profile company, he can always go and be a sanitation engineer and no one would ever want to know his damn name. He and his family also wouldn't be living in a suburb in Virgina on that salary. Thats like movie stars complaining about paparazzi, your life is dependent on public attention. You don't have that much power to turn attention on and off for when its convenient. Dont go to the store if you hate paparazzi, send one of your maids or some shit. That is why you get paid so much. Not just for acting skills but the inconveniences that come with the limelight. Dumb asses.

Bailout, Lions, And shares O My

The worst franchise in NFL history, the Detroit Lions are going to retire the number of Corey Smith. (MSNBC)
One of the players that died in the boating accident off the coast of Florida last month is going to have his number retired by the Detroit Lions. I only ask why? I get that it is a sad circumstance in which Mr. Smith lost his life but is it really necessary to retire his number? Sounds like the lions are trying to capitalize off this media attention. I am sure next week we will hear about the commemorative patch they will where in honor of him. The lions feel like this lost is similar to Pat Tillman the former cardinal that traded his career for a military deployment and Gene Upshaw who headed the union and was a hall of famer. Who had commemorative patches and numbers retired, but they didn't die in a boating accident. No offense to the Smith family but it is not the same. I sympathize with your lost, but to let the lions use this as a marketing tool is just sick.

The House of Representatives passes a bill taxing bailout related bonuses 90% (MSNBC)
A 90 percent retroactive TAX is one of the dumbest things lawmakers can propose. They act like they had no idea that these bonuses where going to be paid out when the TARP was first passed. I am as mad as anyone that people are getting positively compensated for doing a horrible job, but do you realize the implications of letting the government tax you after you receive extra money. This means next year after you make all your money for the year the government could conceivable pass a tax at the end of the year saying everyone needs to pay 50% of their income to the government. Not only that, but this is taxation without representation. A tax is not a punishment, it is to be used for necessary services the government provides for the citizens of this nation. what service would the government give this execs after taxing them over 200 million dollars? The politicians are just trying to cover their ass after they let the TARP go through after most of their constituents thought it was a bad idea. On the other hand by publishing the names of these execs publicly, someone will probably get killed by some person who loses it after they loose their savings. These execs could do the right thing and give this money back and put it towards payroll so that AIG could hirer a bunch of people even if they are for menial jobs. 218 million in payroll could go a long way. But that just makes to much sense to ever happen like my friend said to me.
"Its like they(politicians/execs) have horse blinders on and only look straight ahead rather than looking at obvious options around them"

Haiti we do care, the middle class is just to occupied to help right now.

With the looming financial crisis in the USA, many people have not had the energy or time to worry about the state of affairs in other parts of our hemisphere. The Country of Haiti has not just been hit with a continues series of civil unrest in the last years but in the last couple months has been ravaged by hurricanes and tropical storms:

"Civil defense director Maria-Alta Jean Baptiste said in an interview with The Associated Press that 793 bodies have been found so far, and authorities are still looking for bodies in the mud that swamped coastal settlements....
Crews have found 466 bodies in the hard-hit town of Gonaives alone, and government workers are burying the dead immediately to avoid contamination and the spread of infectious diseases, she said.
The four tropical storms that struck in late August and early September also wiped out at least 60 percent of Haitian agriculture and destroyed roads, bridges and homes...
International aid and food has poured in, but the U.N. World Food Program has so far received only $1 million of the $54 million it requested."
(MSNBC, 2008)
This is just heartbreaking Revelation that a country ignored by the international community is ignored in their time of most need. I guess the country pick a bad time to be hit by 4 storms. They should have done this before the worldwide financial crisis, they would have at least received some more help than $1 Million dollars. how much money was Thailand given after their monsoon. O there is a difference though, one country is a trade partner. The other country is just over 600 miles away from the U.S. Its a sad time when looking at humanities true focus, themselves. I am keeping all of the world in my prayers, including the people of Haiti. But what can i say, it took the Govt 3 days until they decided to help the victims of Katrina, and if you heed the words of certain representatives of our elected body of law makers. The Government run FEMA(Part of the department of Homeland Security) did a lot more than just help save people.

Where the hell are all these entertainers that only show up when there is a national disaster in some part of the world. Can they not help or bring attention to a subject unless a TV crew is with them. They are just as out of touch as everyone on wall street. Just profiting off of the citizens, and then complaining about the attention and blaming others for their problems. Sheesh

Racism, Champions, and Perscription Drugs.

Politics is dirty, isn't that right Elliot Spitzer
At a speech today, David Bellavia former Army Staff Sergeant said in an introduction for Senator John McCain.
“Rest assured,” he told the crowd, “that men like Senator McCain will be the goal and the men that my two young boys will emulate and admire. You can have your Tiger Woods, we’ve got Senator McCain.”

This statement is loaded with implication and imagery. Tiger Woods has won over 88 times as a professional. So kids a free lesson from David Bellavia, no matter what happens in your life don't work hard at something, succeed and become a successful adult.
Secondly No matters how Tiger Woods identifies himself as, get this "a human being". Its a shame that all some people see is a black man in a white mans game. I think if anything Tiger Woods has tried not to label himself as a black man, to the disdain of a few community leaders. I thought race relations have come a longer way than this, but Scoop Jackson summed it up the best "I believe every time you hear "first black" in sports, it's an affirmation that racism in sports still exists." If racism still exist in sports it definitely exist in society.
Lastly why is David Bellavia Comparing Apples to Oranges, I thought McCain is a Politician and Tiger Woods is an athlete/corporate icon. Why not to make your point compare tiger woods and Roger Clemens. Two hall of famers, in the same profession. Sheesh

Congrats KU, hopefully they don't lose Bill Self to OSU.

That was a clutch shot and a classic sports moment. Maybe College football has it right, everybody got to see last night what happens when two great teams play in the championship. The audience ended up with a entertaining and exciting game. Even though the two best teams might not have unnecessarily been playing last night. Sure sometimes the BCS gets it wrong, but has anyone kept track of the scores of the previous championship games? Me neither. I Honestly don't believe anyone would watch the entire championship game if it was University of Louisiana-Monroe vs Kansas. I would tune in, but it would be a horrible game. So what is the purpose of a 64 team tournament, to instill that false since of hope? Why not make it a 16 team tournament and have it in bowl format. It would allow for more prime time games and would stimulate the economy of the market the game is played in. Let the 2,000 person fan base teams play each other at a mutual location so their students can go to the games.

I would like to apologize

I would like to apologize to the 3 people that read this blog for my lack of thought. This caught my eye, somewhere in between "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" and Madden 06 . While watching the super bowl, this advertisement somewhat irked me. Does the race car drive, really tell the audience to not bother reading the side effects of a drug. Wow, I knew the FDA didn't do shit, they are dysfunctional and inefficient. I would think the FTC would have something to say. Janet Jacksons boob was a national outcry, and that image hurt no one. That image alone probably saved a few marriages. Not reading drug labels, can kill you; they should make a did you know commercial for that. Here is the video below, enjoy:
